ROS051Description
The Los Gatos Carnegie Library existed from 1903 - 1954. Andrew Carnegie (1835 - 1919), a Scottish immigrant who made a fortune in steel, endowed more than 1,600 public libraries in the United States, believing them to be "ladders upon which the aspiring can rise." His gift to Los Gatos was $10,000, which built this library. ROS051Subject
