More than 100 years have passed since these Los Gatans, dressed in their absolute Sunday best, are shown enjoying their park. The park featured a large platform surrounded by benches, where afternoon dances were held. The same platform was later used as a roller skating rink. The trees provided welcome shade, and the rushes along the edge of the creek were often thick with croaking frogs. People standing in the same spot today would find themselves on Highway 17.
