Townspeople walked along the creek often, catching fish, picnicking, and generally enjoying the lovely setting. Dora Rankin, in her newspaper series titled "As It Was," recalled the large rocks which protruded into the stream and provided flat spots to picnic and roast ears of corn. LGC007
