Description

PETER W. SIEMENS 1981 - 1982 Peter W. Siemens was born in San Francisco in 1937. He was raised in the Central Valley. He and his wife, Diane, arrived in Los Gatos in July of 1969. They have two children, Catherine and Eric. He is a graduate of the California State University at Fresno and is by profession, an instrumentation engineer. He served on the Santa Clara County Transportation Commission, the Town Council from 1978 to 1982, and as mayor during 1981 and 1982. During his tenure as mayor, there was a major effortto revise the General Plan and to develop a downtown Specific Plan. As a result of that effort, densities in Los Gatos were lowered. There was a significant decrease of potential density in the hills surrounding Los Gatos. This, in return, generated community approval of the Villa Vasona Senior Housing Project; and support of bicycle paths and park improvements as well as generate attention on neighborhood improvements. Siemens continues to be an active civic leader. PE250
