1980 - 1981;1983 - 1984 THOMAS J. FERRIT0 Thomas J. Ferrito was born in New York City on November 29, 1942. He grew up in San Jose. He graduated from San Jose State University in 1965 with a degree in electrical engineering and a 1aw degree from the University of California College of Pharmacy in 1893. he practiced nine years as a pharmacist in San Francisco. In 1903, he moved to Los Gatos, purchasing the Johns and Johnson Pharmacy on Beckwith Street. In 1911, he built his own building at 11 East Main Street and opened up Green's Pharmacy. In 1903, Green married Edith Stahl. They had three chi1dren, Garner, Elton, and Katherine Green Condon. He served as a member of the Los Gatos Town Council from 1922 to 1942. And when the State of California stipulated that all Board of Trustees of communities select a mayor, he became the first officially-named mayor of Los Gatos from 1926 to 1927. For many years, Green served on the Board of Trustees of the school district and on the Library Board. As a member of the Town Council, he was involved in the first residential paving program in Los Gatos. In 1948, he sold his pharmacy and dedicated his retiring years to serving the community.
