Description

The dog, Sharkey, in the German colony at Wrights Station. Along the South Coast Pacific Railroad that travels through the Santa Cruz Mountains and stops just near the summit, is the area known as Wright's Station or Wrights. Area is named after James Richards Wright, who owned a residence/hotel in the area. Wrights became a welcoming community with a depot, store, post office and blacksmith shop. Wrights Station also became an important fruit growing and shipping point area for Los Gatos and Santa Cruz Mountains. MTN010
