Description

Born in Santa Clara city in 1852, the second to Jonathan and Eliza Parr, the youngest of six children. In 1856 Jonathan Parr bought a large ranch and moved his family. Jonathan Parr died in 1867 and Edward inheited 4440 acres which he successfully farmed. In 1872 he married Virginia Johnson, a San Josean. In Los Gatpos the Parrs and their three children, Lesteer Edward, Edna Lulu and Charles Edward. Eventually Edward sold the property and bought a small plot of land in Cambell where in 1883 they had another bore another child Hazel Virginia. In 1888 the first Campbell School District was formed and Edward became one of its first board members.
