The Magnus Tait house. Built in 1887 for Magnus Tait, one of the four subdividers of the Almond Grove district. It is Gothic Revival style, one story, and Magnus Tait lived here until he died in 1906. Llewellyn and Mary Mallory purchased the house in 1906 and lived there for 10 years. Then it became a rental with several lessees until the 1980s. Gwen Watkins purchased the house in 1983, after renting it for 7 1/2 years. She has restored and remodelled several rooms, including repair after the chimney came down in the 1989 earthquake. In 2005, this house was featured on the Los Gatos Museums Historic Homes Tour.
