RES341Description
This building was shown on the Sanborn maps as early as 1884. The owner and builder was H. A. Hardinge, the first attorney and the first realtor in Los Gatos. He had quite a contentious personality and mounted large signs on his house voicing his opinion against prohibition, against building a new City Hall, and against allocating money for improvements such as sewers, curbs and gutters. Jean Montgomery was the 3rd owner, purchasing the property from Charles Cundiff in 1948 for the sum of $14,500. She established an antiques shop on the property. Since then, businesses such as a dress shop and photography studio have occupied the premises. RES341Collection
