Description

Built c. 1880. In 1904 Dr. John Rice and his wife, Kittie, bought the house. Dr. Rice was the first dentist in Los Gatos; his office was in the Rankin Bldg. The Rices had one of the first bathtubs in town. The square turret shown here is unusual----most turrets at that time were round. In 1963 Rex and Juanita Brunner bought the house and embarked on a remodeling, guided by architect Frank Laulainen. The balustrades on the front porch came from the Lyndon Hotel down the street, which was demolished in 1963. RES363
