The gatehouse at "The Cats" estate, built in 1928 or 1929, served as the home of Vincent and Mary Marengo while they were employed by C.E.S. Wood & Sara Bard Field during the 1920s, '30s & '40s. According to the Marengos' granddaughter, Betty Weltz, Vincent and Mary were "always working" up at the main house and were seldom home. MAR006
