Until August 1, 1952, all telephone calls from Los Gatos went through this switchboard. Some of the telephone operators had seen changes from the old-fashioned crank phone to the common battery phone, the change from manual to dial service, and now the changes from local to extended services. Lyndon Farwell announced that the terminated emloyees would receive termination pay based on the length of their service. Mrs. Beverly Jameson placed the last operator-assisted call from the Los Gatos exchange. FAR042
