Vasona Lake Dam was completed in 1935. But the waters of the Los Gatos Creek had often been diverted, starting in the 1850s, when farmers wanted to irrigate their crops. Wooden flashboard dams, like the one pictured here, existed in the early years. Robert Scott stands at left. FIN043
