Description

By the early 1900s, the town of Dixon featured a localized sawmill alongside a large milling and power plant to support surrounding ranches and growing community. Like many early Wyoming timber operations, the sawmills near Dixon were often portable or semi-permanent. They were set up close to regional timber stands and moved or dismantled once local wood resources were thinned.
