AVP: Alien Vs. Predator (2004)/Avpr: Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem (2007) Xenomorph Warrior Costume DisplayEntry/Object ID
OAPS2Description
A xenomorph warrior costume display from Paul W. S. Anderson's Alien vs. Predator and the Brothers Strause's Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. Xenomorphs battled with Predators in Antarctica and later Gunnison, Colorado. The aliens were brought to life with a combination of live-action performers, puppetry, and visual effects. While the body of the costume would have been previously made for and used in Alien vs. Predator and reused in Requiem, the head is exclusive to Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.
While its biomechanical aesthetic harkens back to H.R. Giger's creature designs for Ridley Scott's Alien, this costume features patterns created specifically for the AVP films by Academy Award®-winning special effects group Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (ADI).
This lot consists of a dark gray latex foam body suit with matching feet covers and hands with resin nails; a dark painted fiberglass helmet with resin teeth; and a dark gray latex foam sculpted tail with an interior metal armature. Cable control wires used to puppeteer the hands protrude from the underarms, and a clear rubber tubing runs through the body suit and helmet for the excretions special effects. The suit is enclosed with zippers and eyelets throughout, including at the neck of the helmet to connect it to the suit. This xenomorph comes dressed on a custom mannequin and mounted on a black painted wooden base. It has not been tested for functionality and exhibits cracked latex foam throughout, as well as torn material under the tail, neck, hips, groin, and elbows. Dimensions: 54" x 70" x 85" (137.25 cm x 178 cm x 216 cm)
