CRPS3Description
A quarter-scale DeLorean time machine model miniature from the production of Back to the Future in Concert. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of the first film, the officially-licensed concert series presented Robert Zemeckis' Back to the Future on the big screen with Alan Silvestri's famous score played by a live orchestra. Venues for the touring concert were decorated for the events with imagery from the films. The popularity of the concert series, and all events celebrating the film over the decades, only further proved the lasting impact the film trilogy had on pop-culture. Following the massive global success of Back to the Future and its two sequels - both of which featured it as Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown's (Christopher Lloyd) signature vehicle - the DeLorean became an emblem of 1980s popular culture and one of science-fiction's most recognizable vehicles. Designed to be suspended from the ceiling, this 1:4-scale DeLorean time machine model miniature last appeared at the two-night Radio City Music Hall concerts in October, 2015. It is ornately detailed to replicate the advanced tech present on the hover-version of the DeLorean seen in the first film's finale and subsequent sequels. The model is constructed from fiberglass over wood, all painted gray and black. It is affixed with wiring and multiple detailed greebles, a DMC logo on the front, a futuristic orange barcode license plate on the back beneath the rear vents, and four up-turned wheels made from commercially-available cart or lawnmower wheels. The wheels also feature metal brackets with holes in the center which were previously used for the cables that the model was suspended from. The model exhibits minor wear from use, including light scuffing and a small crack about the passenger side door. Dimensions: 60" x 28" x 17" (152.5 cm x 71.25 cm x 43.25 cm) Special shipping required; see notice in the Buyer's Guide.Use
