Two pairs of E.T.'s light-up hands from BT's 1999 "Stay in Touch" television advert. The beloved alien botanist first introduced in Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial encouraged British Telecom customers to "stay in touch" in a series of popular commercials released between 1999 and 2000, including one seen here. These hands are made of foam latex, intended to be worn as gloves, with wiring throughout to produce a light-up effect in the fingertip of the index finger of each right hand. They come in their original box, from Neal Scanlan Studios, and are accompanied by bulbs, a power supply, a paint brush and instructions for use. The electronics are still functional, and require a 12V power supply. The box has sustained significant damage.
