Description

A screen-matched tusked gladiator's helmet from Ridley Scott's Oscar-winning historical epic Gladiator. In the thrilling conclusion of his battle with a large group of gladiators in the Zucchabar arena, general-turned-slave Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russell Crowe) finished his last opponent - a gladiator with fearsome tusks on his helmet - by decapitating him with a pair of swords. Distinctive markings and intentional points of distress made by production to this helmet screen-match to the moment when the tusked helmet-clad gladiator's head separated from his neck. This helmet is made of aluminium, intentionally tarnished to look like battle-damaged steel. The tusks are wood painted to look like bone, and the interior features foam padding. The faceplate is on a hinge, allowing it to be pushed up. Dimensions: 48 cm x 33 cm x 30 cm (19" x 13" x 11.75")
