Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl (2003) Captain Hector Barbossa's (Geoffrey Rush) Metal Sword

Description
Captain Barbossa's (Geoffrey Rush) metal sword from Gore Verbinski's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Barbossa carried his signature sword throughout the film as he sought to end the curse of Cortes' stolen Aztec gold. He wielded it against Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in a final duel during the battle of Isla de Muerta before he was slain by Sparrow after the last of the gold returned to the chest with blood repaid.
Compared to other naval-genre films with pirates, Pirates of the Caribbean featured authentic weapon designs and fighting techniques overseen by sword master Bob Anderson. Hollywood blacksmith Tony Swatton forged most of the swords for the principal characters, as well as additional swords for The Curse of the Black Pearl.
This lot consists of one metal sword with an ornate handguard. Production intentionally distressed this sword to give an aged and well-used appearance. It exhibits minor separation of the guard from the blade, and scuffing to the leather grip. Dimensions: 36" x 5" x 4" (91.5 cm x 12.75 cm x 10.25 cm)
Blade was dulled by production.
