Will Turner's (Orlando Bloom) metal sword from Gore Verbinski's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Swordsmith apprentice Turner armed himself with a half-basket sword as he rescued Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in an effort to save Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) from the pirates that kidnapped her. He wielded it throughout the film as he fought Captain Barbossa's (Geoffrey Rush) crew. Compared to other naval-genre films with pirates, Pirates of the Caribbean featured authentic weapon designs and fighting techniques over-seen by sword master Bob Anderson. Hollywood blacksmith Tony Swatton forged most of the swords for the principal characters, as well as additional swords for The Curse of the Black Pearl. This lot consists of one metal sword with a half-basket handguard. It features "Will" hand-written in blue on the blade. Production intentionally distressed this sword to give it a battle-used appearance. It exhibits mild discoloration on the blade and hilt as well as mild scuffing to the leather grip. Dimensions: 32" x 4" x 3.5" (81.25 cm x 10.25 cm x 8.25 cm) Blade was dulled by production.Use
