Description

Ben Jahveri's (Fisher Stevens) Titanic Toy Corporation miniature robot from Kenneth Johnson's Short Circuit 2. Former Nova Robotics inventor Ben Jahveri started his own business, Titanic Toy Corporation, which built sophisticated toy robots, unarmed miniature versions of the full-size military robots he previously made for Nova. One of the toy robots, wandering away while Jahveri was street vending his creations, caught the attention of Sandy Banatoni (Cynthia Gibb), who promptly ordered 1,000 of them. The film was nominated for Saturn Awards for Best Science Fiction Film and Best Special Effects. Resembling franchise protagonist Johnny 5, this miniature robot is made of cast resin with an array of twisted metal wires resembling cabling. It has a grey-painted finish, with various blue panels and bronze-colour embellishments. It features two rubber continuous tracks and was designed to be poseable, but has grown fragile with age. The eyes and some other finer details remain unpainted and the piece has undergone sympathetic restoration to reattach the head and repair the treads. It exhibits paint chipping throughout, exposing the resin underneath, and is missing its lower left eyelid and rear wheel section. Dimensions: 33.25 cm x 24.25 cm x 33.25 cm (13" x 9.5" x 13") Contains mechanical components; see notice in the Buyer's Guide.
