Star Wars (20th Century Fox, 1977). Rolled, Fine/Very Fine. Trimmed Mylar One Sheet (26.75" X 41") First Advance.
In 1976, 20th Century Fox, still uncertain about the box office potential of their upcoming science fiction adventure, released a striking mylar advance one sheet to build anticipation for Star Wars. Despite initial doubts, the film's release erased all concerns as George Lucas' epic became a cultural phenomenon, spawning sequels, prequels, television shows, theme park attractions, and one of the most successful toy lines in history. This first advance poster is especially notable for its distinctive title treatment - featuring a sharp, pointy "W" later refined in subsequent designs - making it a prized artifact from the dawn of a cinematic revolution. Mylar is notoriously less forgiving than traditional poster material, however, this example remains in nice condition, displaying surface wear/rubbing, scuffs, some creases, and trimming along the right border. Poster comes from the Collection of Gary Kurtz, Producer of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back.Type of Print
