Description

Star Wars Emperor with Mailer Box & Catalog CAS 80 - Bagged (Kenner, 1984). One of Kenner's most infamous marketing moves came in 1984, when the Emperor-arguably the central villain of the saga-was not released on a standard blister card but instead offered as a mail-away exclusive. Kids clipped and mailed proof-of-purchase seals to receive this cloaked dark lord in a plain white shipper box, usually paired with a Kenner catalog. The promotion heightened anticipation for the character's on-screen appearance in Return of the Jedi and cemented the Emperor mailer as a standout in Kenner's long line of fan-driven exclusives. This example features the bagged figure with blank mailer box and Return of the Jedi catalog, graded CAS 80 with a True Grade of 82.1 and subgrades of B80 W85 F85. The Emperor's mail-away embodies the thrill of 1980s collecting - an exclusive reward for loyal fans, now elevated to one of the most desirable bagged figures in the hobby.
