Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace (Lucasfilm, 1999), "Jar Jar Binks" Pepsi Promotional Display. Original life-size Jar Jar Binks (Ahmed Best) Pepsi-brand Promotional display sculpture, promoting the theatrical release of Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace in 1999. Measuring 82" x 36" x 30" overall on base, and constructed from styrofoam and molded plastic with painted skin and clothing manufactured from brown synthetic suede and faux leather. Mounted on a black display base constructed from plastic and styrofoam, with plaques adorned with the film title, the character name "Jar Jar", and Frito-Lay and Pepsi brand stickers. This model is from a Limited edition produced by Gentle Giant for display use by Frito-Lay and Pepsi. By 1999 Star Wars had long established itself as a marketing juggernaut with many brand deals over the decades, including Burger King as early as the first film in 1977. Exhibits light handling wear, the head and torso are both detachable for transport. This Lot is located in London, England, and special shipping arrangements via third party shipper will apply.
