CPUBH2Description
Star Wars Print Media & Ephemera Lot Featuring Rolling Stone Issue #400/401 (various, 1978-1984). This diverse and nostalgic lot gathers over two dozen pieces of vintage Star Wars-themed print media, activity books, and school supplies from the late 1970s through the mid-1980s-offering a time capsule of how deeply the saga permeated everyday life during its original release era. Highlights include a copy of the Rolling Stone Summer Double Issue (#400/401, 1983), featuring a major interview with George Lucas, a mini-interview with Carrie Fisher, and a piece by Hunter S. Thompson-an iconic cultural artifact in its own right.
The lot also includes several unused activity and puzzle books from Random House, such as Artoo Detoo's Activity Book, The Star Wars Word Puzzles, and multiple copies of the Punch-Out & Make-It Books for both Star Wars and Return of the Jedi. A Star Wars Storybook hardcover, ESB Panorama Book, and Little Pops pop-up book (Han Solo's Rescue) add variety, along with hard-to-find school folders featuring Yoda, Vader, Luke, and droid collages. Also included is the third edition of The Official Price Guide to Star Trek and Star Wars Collectibles, a ROTJ poster magazine, ROTJ-themed doodle pads and learning books, and a Return of the Jedi Play-for-Power card game set from Parker Brothers-with the decks still factory shrink-wrapped.
While most items are unused, they show moderate to heavy shelf and age wear from long-term storage, including dented spines, yellowing pages, edge creasing, surface scuffing, and corner wear. A few items exhibit more notable flaws, such as torn spines, partially detached pages, or sticker residue, but overall, the group remains highly presentable. An outstanding mixed-media lot that spans books, games, school supplies, and pop culture journalism-ideal for collectors of vintage Star Wars merchandise, retro print media, anyone curating the broader cultural impact of the original trilogy era, or sci-fi loving doctors of Gonzo Journalism.Other Names and Numbers
