Name/Title
Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi (1983) Rebel Trooper Dh-17 Blaster PistolEntry/Object ID
OPPS188Description
A Rebel trooper DH-17 blaster from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Rebel soldiers were seen with silver-tipped blasters in both Star Wars: A New Hope and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. A similar blaster was documented in pre-production photography during prep for Return of the Jedi.
This blaster, commonly known as the BlasTech DH-17 blaster pistol, was created for Return of the Jedi and intended for use during filming, but ultimately did not appear in the film. While never seen on film in Jedi, the rebel blasters were well known amongst Star Wars fans due to their use in prior Star Wars films. This specific version of the DH-17 is well-known among fans due to its appearance in the book "From Star Wars to Indiana Jones: The Best of the Lucasfilm Archives."
This blaster's design is based on the body of an AR-7 with the grip of a Sterling L2A3. Built on a replica Sterling submachine gun, it is made primarily of metal and was modified by the production team. It features futuristic dressings, including a custom-machined silver-color flash suppressor, greeblies dressed on one side, a cut-down magazine, and a single-point scope mounted on a rod scope rail. The blaster exhibits chipped paint on the flash suppressor and scuffing to the matte black finish. Dimensions: 17" x 9" x 4" (43.25 cm x 23 cm x 10.25 cm)Other Names and Numbers
