Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi (1983) Set Of Three Small-Scale Death Star Ii Towers
Entry/Object ID
OPPS189
Description
Three small-scale Death Star II towers from Richard Marquand's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The Death Star II's surface was lined with powerful gun turbolaser turrets.
The Rebel fleet's assault on both Death Stars in the Battles of Yavin and Endor in A New Hope and Return of the Jedi, respectively, were considered two of the most visually stunning sequences in the Star Wars franchise. The elaborate space battles were brought to life by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) using expansive model miniatures representing the heavily armed surface and trenches of the Death Stars. The film earned a Special Achievement Award for Visual Effects at the 56th Academy Awards®.
These small rectangular towers are made of biscuit foam painted matte gray. Because of their small scale, these towers were made in a more simplistic style than the larger variants. They exhibit minor paint wear from use and age. Dimensions: (each) 0.75" x 0.25" x 0.25" (1.75 cm x 0.75 cm x 0.75 cm)
