Star Wars ROTJ Gamorrean Guard, Rancor Keeper, Klaatu, & Prune Face (Kenner, 1983-84). This lot of four original Return of the Jedi figures from Kenner's 1983-84 lineup offers a strong sampling of background characters and creatures from the film's richly populated middle act. Featuring figures from both Jabba's Palace and the Rebel command, this group includes a mix of cardback variants and special offer promotions, each offering visual variety and collector appeal.
The Gamorrean Guard, presented on a 65-Back B card and marked "Made in Mexico," is a fan-favorite with its bulky sculpt. The card exhibits a large horizontal crease running across the top and through the hanger hole, along with a vertical crease on the reverse that follows the left side of the bubble. Additional smaller creases appear along the edges, and there is light edge and corner wear. The bubble shows only minor surface scuffing.
The Rancor Keeper, featured on a 77-Back B card with a Free Anakin Skywalker offer, is housed on an unpunched card that displays mild edge and corner wear, along with light surface scuffing. The bubble is crushed on the left side but remains securely attached and free of cracks, with only minor scuffing present.
The Klaatu figure is sealed on a 77-Back A card featuring a Free Coin offer. The card displays a crease across the top of the bubble that extends through the hanger, and veining is visible on the lower portion of the back. The card is partially unpunched, and the bubble is beginning to show signs of yellowing with age.
The Prune Face is also mounted on a 77-Back A card with a Free Coin offer. The card shows veining on the back above the bubble, as well as moderate edge and corner wear. There is a noticeable inward bend to the card, and the bubble has yellowed and shows a small dent at the top right corner.
Altogether, this is a well-rounded grouping of vintage ROTJ figures, ideal for collectors seeking original carded specimens with character depth and variation. While condition varies, all four figures retain strong display potential and represent an important slice of the expansive world-building that defined Kenner's final full wave of the original trilogy.Other Names and Numbers
