Star Wars ESB Chewbacca 21-Back A AFA 80+ ** POP 1, 2nd Highest Grade, Only 5 Higher ** (Kenner, 1980). This 21-Back A Chewbacca marks one of the earliest Empire Strikes Back carded releases for the beloved Wookiee co-pilot, issued in 1980 as Kenner transitioned its packaging to promote the second film in the trilogy. Still featuring his classic Star Wars sculpt, this cardback placed Chewbacca squarely in the middle of the evolving saga-bridging the gap between the original 12-backs and the increasingly expansive ESB universe. Graded AFA 80+ NM with subgrades of C80 B80 F85, this is a POP 1 example and the second highest graded Chewbacca on this cardback, with only five known to grade higher. The figure displays beautifully behind a clean bubble and card with strong shelf presence-an excellent specimen of an original trilogy cornerstone character. High-grade 21-backs are increasingly sought after by variant and early ESB collectors, and Chewbacca remains a pillar of any vintage Kenner collection. A premium piece that brings both rarity and iconic character appeal to the table.Use
