An original bladed lightsaber prop as used by Liam Neeson as "Qui-Gon Jinn" in the production of the film Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (Lucasfilm Ltd., 1999). This lightsaber prop is composed of cast resin lightsaber hilt with hand-painted silver-tone and black detailing. At the top of the hilt, a threaded metal rod protrudes from the emitter, where the blade is attached. The blade is hollow aluminum with a green coating designed to help the special effects team in animating the lightsaber, similar to a green screen. Wear is present throughout, likely due to production use. Qui-Gon Jinn uses this type of lightsaber throughout the film, first during attempted negotiations with the Trade Federation at the beginning of the film and through the end ot the film during the fateful battle against Darth Maul (Ray Park) alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor).Use
