Description

Peter Pevensie's (William Moseley) glacier-SFX metal Rhindon sword from Andrew Adamson's The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Gifted to Peter by Father Christmas (James Cosmo), the blade - known as Rhindon - served as his primary weapon throughout his adventures in Narnia. This particular sword was created specifically for the sequence in which Peter, along with his sisters Susan (Anna Popplewell) and Lucy (Georgie Henley), became trapped at a frozen waterfall's glacier and Peter had to plunge his sword into the ice so they could make their escape. To achieve this effect, one of the steel hero swords was modified for use in the scene. Constructed with a steel blade and core, the sword incorporates a resin and urethane hilt. The blade bears two engraved inscriptions: "When Aslan Bares His Teeth, Winter Meets Its Death" on one side, and "When Aslan Shakes His Mane, We Shall Have Spring Again" on the other. The handle is finished in deep red with decorative detailing and simulated stitching designed to resemble a leather wrap. Its gold-colour pommel takes the form of a roaring lion's head, symbolizing Aslan. The end of the sword's blade was adapted with bracket fittings, allowing it to be anchored into the ice structure during the glacier sequence. The sword exhibits wear from production, including chipped paint on the pommel and tarnishing to the metal around the brackets. Dimensions: 90.25 cm x 21.75 cm x 5 cm (35.5" x 8.5" x 2")
