Description

Joseph Mastas Kinsman was a white settler who left Massachusetts in 1849 and met Mary Joaquin at Hooker's Cove, which is near North Fork, Madera County ("Medicine Man to Medic", Emily Wogaman, 1973). He and Mary, a North Fork Mono Indian woman, lived at Soyakanim (now Kinsman Flat in Madera County). They had three children, Mary (Mollie), Joe, Jr. and Annie.
