Sam Pomona is shown here with his horse in Madera County. Sam was a very respected cowboy in Madera County and known for having the finest tack for his horse. Like other Indian cowboys, Sam braided his own reins and ropes, either out of rawhide or horse hair. Common in the photos of him, his horse is wearing a beautiful beaded breast collar with the front having a heart on it.Photograph Details
