Matias Erro and hisfFamily were Basque Sheep Raisers and would move their sheep from the west side of Madera County to their grazing permit along the Middle Fork of the San Joaquin River. His granddaughter, Barbara Marsella, states that Matias would ride his horse wearing a suit and smoking a cigar.
