Torah Shield AJ Sztern Lublin, Poland 1776 Silver: parcel gilt, cast Judith Meyers Memorial Fund 1950.03 Both the artist and city are indicated by stamped marks, but this ornament traveled far from its place of origin. An inscription tells us that the shield was dedicated by the Burial Society of Piesk, which was near Grodno, now in the state of Belarus.
