This cash register was brought from Portage La Prairie by Robert Sangster MacKenzie when he started his store in Rivers, Manitoba in 1967. It was used until the introduction of the 5% revenue tax in 1967, The store was taken over from R.S. MacKenzie by his son James A. MacKenzie in 1911 and operated until his death in 1968; and is now managed by his son. circa 1898 National Cash Register Co.Collection
