Leutenant Colonel H.A. Erickson, known to his friends as "Jimmy", was a longtime photographer and resident of Coronado. He started and was the president of Erickson Flying Photographer, Ltd. Erickson was one of the first people to photograph San Diego from the air as early as 1911. Many of his photographs were taken from the seat of a stearman biplane. He was born in 1884, and died in 1962. It is possible that Lt. Col. Erickson also photographed the Honda Point Disaster. He worked with the US Navy as an aerial photographer. He was an officer with the Army Air Corps Reserve.
