Scope and Content

This folder contains deck and cabin plans published between 1950 and 1966. Folder 5 (K0001.007.005) contains deck and cabin plans dated between 1930 and 1949. This folder contains twelve items. 1. Large fold-out cabin and deck plan for S.S. President Cleveland and S.S. President Wilson (1950) - folds out to a color map of the world showing APL's round-the-world route. Contains black-and-white interior photographs. Very handsome. 2. Cabin plan for the S.S. President Monroe and the S.S. President Polk (1950) - multi-color printing, black-and-white photographs and a hand colored black-and-white photograph of the Monroe. Text provides interesting contrast when compared with pre-war material. 3. Cabin plan and transpacific passenger schedule for the S.S. President Cleveland and the S.S. President Wilson (1950-1951 season) - appears to have been removed from a larger publication. 4. Preliminary cabin plan for S.S. President Jackson, S.S. president Adams and S.S. President Hayes (1950) - folds out to show deck plans. Printed in a two-color scheme. 5. Brochure titled 'New Concept in Sea Travel' (1955) - describes the cabins and facilities of the then-newly purchased S.S. President Jackson. Printed in a two-color scheme. 6. Advance plan of Lanai suites aboard the S.S. President Cleveland and the S.S. President Wilson (1956) - shows plans of the luxury Lanai suites, which were about to be installed. Appears to be intended for the use of travels agents. 7. Brochure titled 'The Lanai Suites' (1957) - describes the facilities and features of the Lanai suites. Hand-colored black-and-white photographs. 8. Cabin and deck plan for the S.S. President Hoover (1957) 9. Cabin and deck plan for the S.S. President Cleveland and the S.S. President Wilson (1958) 10. Cabin and deck plan for the S.S. President Hoover (1962) 11. Brochure titled 'Design and Decor' (1961) - describes facilities for passengers on board the S.S.
