This cup was presented to Captain Phillips by the passengers who had sailed in first class or saloon during a particular voyage. It represents one of the very few existing artifacts associated directly with the life of a captain of the Euterpe. It is also a testament to Captain Phillip’s professionalism and seamanship, in bringing Euterpe and her passengers safely to their destination.
