This folder consists of two items:
1. "Flandre" "Antilles": Single-page folded poster-deckplans for the SS Flandre and the SS Antilles. Captions in English, French and Spanish.
2. "Antilles" French Line: multi-page folded and stapled booklet. Undated but ca. 1951, (Antilles II). Booklet provides photos of accommodations, ammenities and activities. Especially notable for featuring small insets, on each page, of paintings depicting the slave trade, and for the children's playroom which is depicted as featuring a grotesque board featuring minstrel-esque cartoon characters whos agape mouths are cut out, presumably, so children can insert some object(s) into them. The Antilles sailed to ports in the Caribbean and the West Indies, and burned off the coast of Mustique in 1971.Collection
