This folder consists of three items:
1.The Modern Layout of the New SS Ryndam- A New Concept in Tourist Travel, Comfort with Economy: Single, folded page color brochure dated 1951. Simple cut-away style illustrated deck plans for the redesigned SS Ryndam.
2.Accommodation Plan, First and Tourist Class, SS Ryndam: Multi-page stapled brochure, bicolor, dated Jan. 1952. Deck plans for the vessel, featuring some black and white photos of accommodations and ammenities.
3.Facts and Figures, SS Ryndam, A New Concept in Tourist Travel: Multi-page stapled booklet, dated July, 1951. Provides general information about the SS Ryndam, including physical specifications, launch date, ammennities available, etc. Small slips of paper containing revised text have been rubber cemented into booklet. One includes information about the ship's funnel, not found elsewhere in the booklet, the other redacts the phrase "which can be used by both classes" from information about the onboard barber shop/beauty parlor. Editor seems to have wanted to deemphasize the dual-class cruising structure, and emphasize the ship's physical, non-social, characteristics.Collection
