This folder consists of four items:
1.Malolo: Multi-page stapled booklet. Undated, ca. late 1920s. Covered in marbled paper and decorated with an iridescent illustration of a flying fish and the vessel underway from a frontal aerial view. Elegantly formatted viewbook for the Malolo. Each page features a black and white photo of a ship's interior or passengers engaging in shipboard activities, acommpanied by a blurb of text discussing the cruising lifestyle.
2. Once-a-Year Specials, $150 First Class Round Trip to Hawaii on the Mighty "Malolo", Early Summer Vacation Excursions: Single folded page with diagonal-cut-away corners detail. Dated March 1927. General announcement of special rates for Spring and early Summer cruises.
3. Deck Plans: Coverless multi-page stapled booklet. Undated, ca. 1930. Deck plans for the Malolo, which look as though they might have fallen out of a larger brochure.
4."Malolo" Third Around Pacific Cruise, September 19th to December 16th: Multi-page, color-cover, stapled booklet, dated 1931. Discusses ports, general information, rates of fare, itineraries, etc. for three-week cruise to Southern Pacific ports aboard SS Malolo. Many black and white photos of port activities and accommodations. It is prominently noted in the back cover of the booklet that all photos were taken by a Malolo staff photographer on the previous year's cruise. Unusually formatted for an advertisement from the 1930s, in that most were smaller, unstapled and did not feature color photos on their covers.Collection
