Scope and Content

Many pamphlets and magazines that introduce and describe the many tours and cruises available to Hawai'i in the 1960s. The Matson Lines allowed people of all stations and financial ranks to travel across the Pacific and enjoy a reasonable amount of time at sea and on land without breaking the bank. In this collection are also a luggage tag from a Matson Line cruise along with a napkin with the ship's symbols on it. These pamphlets allow us to understand the excitement that must have been felt by Americans in the 1960s to travel to a tropical area within the country.
