This series consists of two folders:
Nederland Line, or Stoomvaart Maartschappij Nederland was founded in 1870 by Holland's Prince Hendrik "The Seafarer" to run mail and passengers from Holland to the Dutch East Indies, (Indonesia.) In the early 1900s, the line offered service to/from Java to/from western United States ports, and to New York via the Panama Canal. The line merged with Rotterdamsche Lloyd in 1963 to found NedLloyd Lines. In 1970 the line ceased to be known as a seperate entity when Nedlloyd Lines became Royal Nedlloyd in a full merger of four corporations, including Nederland Lines. Nedlloyd, today, belongs to Maersk, currently the world's largest shipping company.Collection
