Name/Title

Pacific Steamship Co. Series

Entry/Object ID

K0001.120

Scope and Content

This series consists of five folders: Pacific Steamship Co. , a.k.a. the Admiral Line, was the result of a merger between the Alaska Pacific Steamship Co. and the Pacific Navigation Co. in 1916. The line carried US Mail between Pacific US, Canadian and Alaskan ports. Its"admiral" class of vessels carried passengers along the route. The line was sold to Dollar Steamship Company in 1922. Several items in the folders of this series are from the period after the line's fleet had been sold to Dollar Steamship Co. and therefore, these items should properly be filed under the Dollar Steamship Line series heading, but have been left in place to preserve existing organization of the collection.
