Scope and Content

This series consists of one folder: The Panama Line was operated by the Panama Railroad Company, starting in 1939, to carry US Mail and passengers between New York and Panama via Haiti. The line's fleet consisted of three vessels, the SS Cristobal, the SS Ancon and the SS Panama. Each vessel was pressed into service during WWII. The line operated until 1981.
