001- Color photograph, pictured is 6 docked boats, written on the back:
"5 April 1967, Uung Tau, Vietnam
These are a few of the river flotilla boats. They're used for fire support, carrying combat ready troops or combat cargo. The one inboard is one of the new boats that are arriving over here, they carrer 2.50's (outboard) and a .20mm aft, a .30cal machine gun can be mounted on either side of coxwain. The two in the middle are Vietnamese boats and we're using a couple of their boats until the new ones arrive. They have no armor plating and only carry only .50's. The boat outboard is the command boat. It has all the radio and radar gear, 2.50's and a .40mm grenade launcher just aft of the forward .50s."

"The seawolfs carry 2 pilot controlled M-60's and 2.75 rockets on each side. They also have 2 door gunners with hand held m-60's"

"5 Aug Off LST
The "36" boat coming in to switch crews. It's a lot rougher than than the picture looks be cause "she's" coming in on the lee side. She's doing about 20 kts and has 10 left over, looks just like yours ole man, star and all."

"23 Aug On Patrol
Just poking along wth no particular place to go. [note: handwriting switches from print to cursive] Wearing my favorite 'patrol hat' and my 'shades.' I't smore fun to drive from back here and I can get tanner too. We're gonna get some skiis and fishing equipment to make it more enjoyable too."
