Tuna Fishing
Mr. Rankin has a very interesting and unique perspective on tuna fishing. He briefly discusses the decline of the tuna industry. He discusses his experience with building a trade relationship with people in Ecuador. He was one of the first to buy tuna fish outside of the United States in order to remain in business. He bought tuna from local fishermen. He then formed the Marine Products of Peru corporation. Mr. Rankin discusses his purchase of a hotel in Peru and converting it to a freezing plant and then also to a canning plant. He eventually sold his plant to Van de Kamp and Purina.
