Nelson Aerials - HB DuPont's covered bridge over Red Clay Creek below Ashland, DE (color corrected) Creek Road enters from the lower right with Way Road entering from the middle right. Both roads merged at the bridge crossing. The covered bridge continued to provide access to the H.B. DuPont estate once the new bridge was installed. The covered bridge fell into disrepair and a new entrance to the DuPont estate was constructed. The white stone tenant home used the former Creek Road sandwiched between the railroad and creek as a driveway to the property. The bridge was burned in 1964.Photograph Details
