Front Writing: "'Steam's the Stuff.' At the Spring Meet of the Antique Automobile Club of America in June 1951, T. Clarence Marshall won a first prize with his newly-restored Stanley 'Gentleman's Speedy Roadster'. Upon receiving the award, he remarked: 'Steam's the Stuff.', which became a by-word of steam car collectors from that day on. Meet was held at the Yorklyn Gun Club, and the late opera star, James Melton, drove this car up and down the hill several times, being greatly impressed with its performance."Photograph Details
